Fourth Grade began the year with a unit on the social and emotional issues facing GT students. We learned what "kind of smart" we are on the Multiple Intelligences wheel and discussed how to deal with pressure from teachers, parents, and other kids.
Now we are up, up, and away on our Aerodynamics unit! We began with experiments to test the properties of air, Newton's Laws of Motion, and the Bernoulli Principle. Check out our video here:

Now we are making our first project, straw rockets! We will run tests and experiments with changing the variables of cone shape and size, rocket length, launch angle, and fin design to see how it changes altitude and distance. Check back for pictures and videos soon!
